home help services

What are home help services?

When the daily routine that you used to take in your stride starts to become a struggle, you might worry that you can’t cope at home with domestic tasks and will have to move into a care home.

We’ve worked with many clients who’ve faced this challenge and our home helpers supported them to live safely and confidently at home. We can help you do the same with our home help services.

Support from a home help carer

It’s often support with the little tasks and chores that make a big difference. Getting that helping hand with appointments, tidying up or prepping your meal, can take a weight off your mind.

Deciding how much home help and support you need is up to you. If you’d like our support, we’ll create a detailed package of care with a schedule of costs and proposed start date. You can change your mind or adjust your home help support plan at any time.

Here’s an idea of the things we can do to help you.

  • Prepare your meals and do the dishes

  • Take you to the shops or help you what you need buy online

  • Clean and tidy your home

  • Wash and iron your clothes, and change your sheets

  • Manage and book your appointments including NHS appointments

  • Help organise direct payments and pay the bills

  • Liaise with third parties, such as plumbers, your local authority, couriers and dog walkers

Restoring confidence: Mrs Y’s experience

Mrs Y was managing every element of her daily routine with confidence, except for shopping, as she was starting to struggle to get out to the supermarket and carry her shopping home. She was worried that, if she couldn’t shop for herself, then she would have to consider moving to a care home.

By arranging weekly visits to take her grocery shopping, supporting her to ensure she had all the items she needed and adding in additional ad hoc visits for shopping trips to town for clothes and other essentials, Mrs Y’s confidence was restored. She gained peace of mind with her concerns about having to leave her home for residential care.
